IMHO: Round 8 review

1. How many people were sucked into picking Fremantle on Friday night?

2. The beltings are turning into narrow, dare we say, honourable losses for Melbourne. The next win is not far away, and will probably be a thrashing.

3. Matthew Lloyd and Warren Tredrea are enjoying Indian summers. But Port shouldn’t be relying on his last-minute heroics if it wants to be a genuine top-four side.

4. You can now add pack-marking to Chris Judd’s bag of tricks.

5. One quarter was all it took for the Saints to dispose of the tenacious Dons. Very good side.

6. 127,000 people at two games in Melbourne on Sunday. Bag the AFL all you wish, but if crowd numbers are  a KPI for Andrew Demetriou, then his end of yar bonus is again looking solid.

7. That’s now eight out of the last 10 Sydney-West Coast clashes decided by less than a goal. These two sides could play lawn bowls and leave you on the end of your seat.

8. Terry Wallace didn’t get the four points, but may have bought himself another four weeks.

9. Dean Laidley’s “Big Kev” impersonation (“I’m excited…”) was that of a coach who knows he’s nearly out the door.

10. Mick Malthouse might be following him.
